INTRO
As a historian, Luke records in his book, Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2 that there were 3 kinds of people on the Day of Pentecost:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. People who spoke in Tongues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. People who understood the Tongues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. People who did not understand the Tongues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    In the Bible’s in depth instruction on the Gifts and manifestations of the Spirit of Christ in 1Corinthians 12-14, Christ’s Apostle Paul teaches that the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues is the only way for men to understand what is spoken in Tongues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    So, more precisely, we had on the Day of Pentecost:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. People experiencing the Gift of Speaking in Tongues enabling them to speak in Tongues (gold).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. People experiencing the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues enabling them to understand the Speaking in Tongues (blue).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. People not experiencing any Gift and not able to understand the Speaking in Tongues (red).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1Corinthians 12-15<\/summary>\n

      12<\/em><\/strong> Now concerning spiritual gifts,<\/em> brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:<\/mark> 2\u00a0<\/sup>You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      4\u00a0<\/sup>There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5\u00a0<\/sup>There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6\u00a0<\/sup>And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7\u00a0<\/sup>But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:<\/em> 8\u00a0<\/sup>for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9\u00a0<\/sup>to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10\u00a0<\/sup>to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different<\/em> kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11\u00a0<\/sup>But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      12 <\/sup>For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is<\/em> Christ. 13 <\/sup>For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body\u2014whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free\u2014and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 <\/sup>For in fact the body is not one member but many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      15 <\/sup>If the foot should say, \u201cBecause I am not a hand, I am not of the body,\u201d is it therefore not of the body? 16 <\/sup>And if the ear should say, \u201cBecause I am not an eye, I am not of the body,\u201d is it therefore not of the body? 17 <\/sup>If the whole body were<\/em> an eye, where would<\/em> <\/em>be<\/em> the hearing?       13<\/em><\/strong> Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels<\/mark>, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2\u00a0<\/sup>And though I have the gift of<\/em> prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3\u00a0<\/sup>And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,<\/em> and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      4 <\/sup>Love suffers long and<\/em> is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 <\/sup>does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 <\/sup>does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 <\/sup>bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      8\u00a0<\/sup>Love never fails. But whether there are<\/em> prophecies, they will fail; whether there are<\/em> tongues, they will cease; whether there is<\/em> knowledge, it will vanish away. 9\u00a0<\/sup>For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10\u00a0<\/sup>But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      11\u00a0<\/sup>When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12\u00a0<\/sup>For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.       14<\/em><\/strong> Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts<\/em><\/mark>,<\/em> but especially that you may prophesy. 2\u00a0<\/sup>For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him;<\/em> however, in the spirit<\/strong> he speaks mysteries.<\/mark> 3\u00a0<\/sup>But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 4\u00a0<\/sup>He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself,<\/mark> but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5<\/sup>\u00a0<\/sup>I wish you all spoke with tongues<\/mark>, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is<\/em> greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets<\/mark>, that the church may receive edification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      6\u00a0<\/sup>But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either by revelation, by knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching? 7\u00a0<\/sup>Even things without life, whether flute or harp, when they make a sound, unless they make a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or played? 8\u00a0<\/sup>For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle? 9\u00a0<\/sup>So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. 10\u00a0<\/sup>There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is<\/em> without significance. 11\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks will be<\/em> a foreigner to me.<\/mark> 12\u00a0<\/sup>Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be<\/em> for the edification of the church that<\/em> you seek to excel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      13\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. 14\u00a0<\/sup>For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15\u00a0<\/sup>What is the conclusion<\/em> then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 16\u00a0<\/sup>Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say \u201cAmen\u201d at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say? 17\u00a0<\/sup>For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      18<\/sup>\u00a0<\/sup>I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; 19\u00a0<\/sup>yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      20 <\/sup>Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      21\u00a0<\/sup>In the law it is written:<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cWith men of other tongues and other lips<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I will speak to this people;<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      And yet, for all that, they will not hear Me,\u201d<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      says the Lord.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      22\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers<\/mark>; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe. 23\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are<\/em> uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind? <\/mark>24\u00a0<\/sup>But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25\u00a0<\/sup>And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his<\/em> face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      26\u00a0<\/sup>How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27\u00a0<\/sup>If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be<\/em> two or at the most three, each<\/em> in turn, and let one interpret. 28\u00a0<\/sup>But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. <\/mark>29\u00a0<\/sup>Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 30\u00a0<\/sup>But if anything<\/em> is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. 31\u00a0<\/sup>For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. 32\u00a0<\/sup>And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.<\/mark> 33\u00a0<\/sup>For God is not the author<\/em> of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      34 <\/sup>Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they<\/em> <\/em>are<\/em> to be submissive, as the law also says. 35 <\/sup>And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      14 <\/sup>But Peter said, \u201cNot so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      19 <\/sup>While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, \u201cBehold, three men are seeking you. 20 <\/sup>Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      21 <\/sup>Then Peter went down to the men who had been sent to him from Cornelius, and said, \u201cYes, I am he whom you seek. For what reason have you come?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      On the next day Peter went away with them, and some brethren from Joppa accompanied him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      24 <\/sup>And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 <\/sup>As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him<\/em>. 26 <\/sup>But Peter lifted him up, saying, \u201cStand up; I myself am also a man.\u201d 27 <\/sup>And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together. 28 <\/sup>Then he said to them, \u201cYou know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation.
