I hope I’m not alone in holding every manuscript we have with the same high value the people who originally made them and used them and preserved them did.
Is there a way to incorporate every reading into a composite text that respectfully represents every treasured manuscript?
(I’m just not comfortable with labeling portions of our manuscripts as false readings since it implies that the manuscripts are riddled with errors that must be ferreted out before they can be trusted. Thanks.)
In this specific verse you mention, is it possible that Jesus was both filled with compassion for the man’s predicament along with a bit of disappointment for that generation’s inability to minister to his need appropriately?
