Encountering someone willing to listen respectfully for ten minutes, but is completely ignorant of the Bible, what could you say to reconcile him to God?
2Co 5:18-20 LOGOS And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and who gave to us the ministry of this reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning their transgressions against them, and committing to us the word of this reconciliation. 20 Now then, we serve as ambassadors for Christ, as though God were appealing through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
- Assume he has some idea of God since the created Nature around us makes it clearly seen. And the righteous judgement of God against evil behaviors is known, Rom 1:18-32.
- Inform him that God has delegated all judgement along with power to give people life to his unique son (the meaning of the title “Christ”) so that the Son be honored in the same way as the Father is honored, John 5:18-30. This results in the Son being recognized as the “Lord” (Owner, Boss) over everything that has been created.
- This unique Son of God (Christ) lived alongside God the Father long before appearing in history as the only perfectly good man, Jesus of Nazareth, as reported in the New Testament. This means that the person who ultimately judges us is someone who has lived as a human being himself.
- This unique Son of God is the only person who knew God all along. He is the only person who can introduce people to know God for themselves, (Mat 11:27 LOGOS All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one fully knows the Son except the Father, nor does anyone fully know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him). This is how the Son gives life to people, since eternal life (the good afterlife) comes from knowing God, (Joh 17:3 LOGOS And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.)
